CONS Cons: El desayuno me pareció poco. Se entiende que es un concepto saludable pero me pareció que era poca comida.

PROS Pros: Un lugar paradisiaco, inmerso en la naturaleza. Perfecto para desconectarse. Destaco la atención del staff del spa. Gente realmente entrañable.

    "Title: Issues with Cleanness "

"The place is exactly as pictured and, at times, the pictures doesn't do it justice. I noted issues with room and spa cleanness upon arrival but it didn't affect my experience until the last days when I discovered bed bugs. This happened just when I was contemplating extending my stay and I couldn't leave soon enough. I relied this to staff and I hope they will do something about it because its a great place otherwise."

"I had a wonderful time at Bagus Jati. Is a very beautiful and peaceful place to relax. The Yoga Room was incredibly special along with my cabin. Loved how the local people were supported, and employed. The organic produce produced on site and locally with permaculture principles was colourful and delicious. The staff were very warm, friendly and helpful. I highly recommend Bagus Jati to anyone needs a chill away from the busyness of life. Thank you to the staff of Bagus Jati."

"We loved our stay at Bagus Jati. The resort grounds and our villa were extraordinary and special, even magical. Gorgeous landscaped valley surrounded by forests. We had wonderful spa treatments, drinks by the pool, walks around the property. Afternoon meditation guided by Buddha refreshed us. The meditation and yoga rooms facing the bamboo forest were as beautiful and peaceful as setting one could ask for. Service was friendly and helpful."

"Guests should note that the appeal of the resort is its remoteness. I would advise therefore that sightseeing around Bali should be done before or after your visit because the resort is so serene and difficult to leave. Regarding yoga, the morning instructors are adequate but not classically trained. The good news is that you could still use the yoga room and all the props for your own practice. The restaurant serves delicious breakfast and dinner, although service can be very slow so you can't be in a rush. Cocktails are great, but if you are a wine drinker consider bringing your own bottles of wine."

"We would definitely recommend this resort, and would stay there again next time we are in Bali and in need for rest and rejuvenation."

"I had a wonderful time. I traveled by myself and really had no idea what awaits me. I was picked up from the airport and was brought here at night. I woke up to a breath-taking view from my room. I have been doing yoga every morning in a beautiful yoga room hearing birds and water sound . The massages available in the retreat center were great and affordable. I would come back here with no hesitations. I also loved the breakfast buffets with fresh juices and fresh vegetables grown organically on the property. The staff is very attentive and friendly as well. "

" "We absolutely loved Bagus Jati, it felt like heaven on earth from the moment we landed. We absolutely loved the surroundings, the nature and our luxurious hut. We absolutely loved the healthy food, the juices, the omelet-guy and delicious vegetarian and vegan dishes. We absolutely loved all the spa-treatments, the massages and the complimentary ginger tea by the jacuzzi. We absolutely loved all the personal, who were so kind, smiling, sweet and understanding. Budda in the meditation, the pool guy with the big smile, all the beautiful spa ladies, who took so good care of us and the administration, who took our requests with a dashing smile. But most of all, we absolutely loved how we relaxed at Bagus Jati, and how we could reach a new level of awareness. How we soaked the sun, released tensions at the morning yoga, how our vegan diet made us happy and how we smiled and laughed every day. We were so lucky to stay at a yoga retreat at Bagus Jati, and we will recommend everywhere we go "

"Notre séjour à Bagus Jati fut idyllique. Le cadre est grandiose, l'architecture et les aménagements paysagers s'inscrivent délicatement dans ce cadre de verdure. Le personnel est d'une gentillesse sans égal. Nous avons trouvé les cours de yoga un peu trop doux pour commencer mais nous avons fini par nous laisser embarquer dans leur culture qui met en avant la méditation. Les échanges avec les profs furent pour cela passionnants, cela nous a donné accès à leur culture et leurs croyances. "

    "A refaire ! "

"I stayed 5 nights and loved it! The staff were all so friendly. The hotel itself is quite a bit away from Ubud, which is good if you're looking for a quiet out of the way experience. The morning yoga was run by local Balinese, which I really enjoyed. It's targeted for people with some experience of yoga, but complete beginners can still join in. If you're quite experienced you may find the yoga a little slow. "

"Bagus Jati also run other free activities, I particularly enjoyed the nature walk, which included walking around the local village and seeing inside the temple and a local house. They also organise paid activities, I can really recommend the spring temples tour, since I went in the low season I ended up having the guide to myself. "

"The food was great and there was a good mix of Indonesia food, healthy western food (including raw mouse, cake etc) and other options like pasta and burgers. "

"The main draw card for staying here though is the stunning location which overlooks a river. There's nothing like waking up to a wall of lush green forest with butterflies, birds, dragonflies and frogs all around you!"

"This place is incredible! Words can not describe what a healing place this is. We are having a hard time wanting to ever leave! You must experience Bagus Jati if you are looking for a peaceful, remote, jungle get away while staying in Bali. The staff are excellent. We have never met a kinder group of people. While here, check out the guided walk with Buddha - he is fabulous and super energetic. We loved all of the spa staff and particularly enjoyed the deep tissue work from Tinni. All were so helpful and eager to please and support our wellness. The room service was super and we enjoyed delicious healthy meals in our room each day and the restaurant was great in the mornings. Such a healthy vibe if you want it, but there are other options too which made my husband very happy. If you book, ask for Ari and or Wayan. The manager is awesome his name is Nyoman, They were super helpful to us. We hope to come back again very soon. Blessings to all of the staff at Bagus Jati and many thanks for a most memorable experience. Oh by the way, our bungalow was sooooo beautiful and perfectly clean. The pool is natural and pristine and all of the grounds are gorgeous. This place is like heaven on earth!"

"If you are looking for a paradise to rest, recover, and retreat into, that is in nature and ever so beautiful that it takes your breath away then this is it. I would never have imagined that a place like this existed in Bali and I have been there too many times to count. Set into the side of a high rising hill Bagus Jati's photos on its website fail to convey the true essence and magic of this place. It cannot be described in pictures or words, it 'has to be experienced'!"

"If you can get one of the chalet's down in the valley close to the jungle you will experience the true essence of this place. The rooms are BEAUTIFUL and luxurious. I slept with my curtains open all night so I could see the moon shining down through the trees and listen to the music of the jungle while fire flies danced around. In the morning you will be woken up to spectacular bird song that makes you not want to get out of bed."

"The spa is incredible and the design of it makes your jaw drop. The spa treatments are of the highest standard I have ever experienced anywhere in the world and well worth the price, (which I found to be so reasonable). The only issue I had here is that they always seemed to be fully booked up. If you have come to have daily massages this can be extremely frustrating. I feel they could do with some more rooms and massage therapists to meet the needs of the guests. I would suggest booking in your massages online before you even get here to ensure you have a spot. The jacuzzi has stunning views of the surrounding jungle and you can sit in there for hours sipping delicious ginger tea."

"The food here is all from the organic garden grown around the property and it is absolutely delicious! You are spoilt for choice with many dishes including Indonesia. All are very reasonably priced."

"I would highly recommend doing the yoga class with Wayan. It is the best yoga class I have ever done and I have done lots. The meditation was also quite good too."

"The setting of the pool is just mind blowing. The view of the jungle and surrounding hills keeps you riveted in one spot just watching the birds as they fly down to take sips of water from the pool while becoming saturated by the beauty of Mother Nature."

"I would highly recommend doing the 'purification ceremony' at the temple and waterfall near by. You will only have this kind of epic experience once in your life time. The jungle trek is also great as you get to see the locals and learn about the flower and fauna that surrounds."

"The staff cannot do enough for you here. They are all so gracious and kind, bending over backwards for any need that you have. Make sure you leave a tip for them."

"I would say in closing that this is place is an absolute 'MUST' on your bucket list. Well worth the price!"

"The only word for this hotel is exceptional. Everything is great and amazing. The only improvement possible you can notice is three things: number 1 the gym room was not clean enough because the don't have paper and hygiene product to clean the treadmill after use and that was not up to the hotel standard, number 2 the restaurant diner is not good enough compare again to the standard of the hotel, and finally number 3 for some reason the water pipe above the bathroom sink was too short as a result you are to close to the wall and not practical to wash your hand or your teeth and the shower pipe is the same. But besides that amazing hotel the time stop and you just enjoy the time you are there. Superb hotel!"

"I am a travel writer and have visited more wellness retreats than I can count, but Bagus Jati will go down as one of the most memorable, impressive experiences of my career. When planning my trip to Bali, I researched my options ruthlessly. With so many yoga retreats and eco resorts to choose from, it seemed like finding the best would be a crapshoot. But when I finally arrived in the lobby of Bagus Jati Health and Wellbeing Resort in Tegalalang, I applauded my research skills for a job well done. "

"The property, complete with luxurious wooden villas and manicured gardens layered on the side of the canyon wall, is a visual masterpiece. A picture beyond anything I could have painted in my mind. The natural beauty of Bagus Jati is surpassed only by the kindness and attentiveness of their staff. Everyone, from the gardeners to the wait staff, wear a beaming smile, a staple of Balinese hospitality."

"I came here for silence, serenity, a place where I could sit with my thoughts and nurture my body with healthy food, daily yoga and meditation. I came for the clean air, the healing vegetation that surrounded me. This piece of land, all 5 hectares of it, isn’t scarred by the concrete lacerations of the city. No brown fields, strip malls or cinemas to fill the time. The intermittent thunderstorms provide enough entertainment. "

"Bagus Jati offers its guests eco-friendly, guilt-free luxury. They balance comfort with environmental responsibility in a subtle and resourceful way. Electric golf carts whisk guests between the dining hall and the spa. Cool evening breezes provide a perfect substitute for the raw harshness of climate control. "

"And the food, abundant and delicious, is sourced from the gardens on the property and the neighbouring village. Even the lettuce garden sits within eye-site of the dining room bringing a whole new meaning to the term “sourced locally”. "

"If you thought Ubud was the place to be, I will challenge you to think outside the box. Sure, the streets of Ubud feel like a bohemian utopia compared to the bustling, overcrowded Denpasar. But the deeper you venture into the heart of this island, the more it becomes apparent that there is something quite profound about what lies in the countryside. "

"I arrived feeling jaded and worn, and I leave here today feeling physically and spiritually renewed. When I reflect on the past nine days, I was reconnected with my inner goodness, an ode to my uncorrupted self. Hopefully I can sustain the feeling of bliss until my next visit."

"We stayed here for 3 nights and didn't want to leave. On arrival we were upgraded from a superior villa to spa villa #106. It had an amazing 180º view on the enchanted valley. It's also the spa villa closest to the spa, pool and yoga/meditation studio."

"It's so peaceful and quiet at Bagus Jati, the perfect place to unwind. The scenery is stunning and the resort grounds are beautiful."

"Yoga with Qu and meditation with Wayan was great. Learnt a lot from them. The yoga/meditation studio is amazing. Everything opened up with a view on the jungle. Birds flying in and out during your session, it's easy to become one with nature here."

She didn't introduce herself as such, I only found out later that she was the resort manager when I was reading the hotel directory. Nice personal touch. On departure she was there again to say goodbye."

"Spa staff is very good. I had an amazing massage with Adi. The view from most of the treatment rooms is amazing."

"Was initially weird about going on holidays for a few days alone ahead of my husband arriving but I really did want a few days just relaxing without worrying about anyone or anything. And that's exactly what I got. It was absolutely blissful being at Bagus Jati for the 3 day new start package. What I liked about Bagus Jati was you didn't need to start the retreat on a certain day but it was more than just a hotel in the jungle. You could do a lot or nothing at all. I choose the package which had 2 spa treatments, Balinese cooking class, choice of jungle trek or village cycling and of course breakfast. I had an awful journey to Bali with 4 hour delays but arriving on the grounds after the 2 hour drive already eased my stress. It was dark when I arrived and couldn't wait to wake to see the jungle views. It was magical. The storm overnight and rain in the morning meant a magical misty morning. Breakfasts were lovely with al la carte options and then buffets the next 2 days. Made some lovely friends in the cooking class and we also enjoyed the village cycle then next day. Dinners were a option of two mains but a soup and dessert also. It is a health retreat but you can enjoy a cocktail or cheeky dessert if you want. It's a mix of friend groups, solo's and couples mostly. I didn't partake in the morning yoga instead enjoying a tea on my balcony and sleepin but I did try the meditation. Unfortunately i didn't enjoy the teacher but the yoga room itself with glass all open to the jungle was fab. Spa treatments were divine and having since had one in my plush Seminyak hotel I think the Bagus Jati ones were way better."

"I don't often desperately want to go anywhere but here I do. It's a magical place with villas terraced into the hillside set amongst beautiful gardens. The rooms are massive with a giant bed, large spa and shower, and the balcony with views across the valley and jungle. Go there! "

"I just returned from leading a women's retreat for the first time in Bali and we had an amazing experience staying at Bagus Jati! First of all, working with Nyoman to set up the retreat was a blessing! He is organized and responsive and all that he promised, was there waiting for us. Yuki, the manager, and their incredibly caring staff made sure all the details of our rooms, the meals, the journeys that they created for us .. everything was perfect! The beauty of the jungle, the gardens, the landscaped areas made our retreat in Bali very special. The meals were exquisitely prepared, and even picnic lunches were beautiful presented. We tried many spa treatments and were never disappointed. Each day, our yoga pavilion was set up for us with such intention .. with a beautiful flower in front of each backjack chairs, and a gorgeous mandala with flowers and candles. The villas are so luxurious, and with the doors open you can hear the birds, the frogs, and the crickets in symphony. I highly recommend Bagus Jati as a health and wellbeing retreat center!"

"Our stay was many weeks ago now but stays with us as very memorable. We took a detox that has allowed us to make painless changes to our lifestyle whose benefits we think will be permanent. We also intend to return again, not only for the benefits to our health, but for the friendliness of the staff and the beauty of the setting, which includes the wider surroundings of this fertile, mountainous, unusual landscape and its vibrant local villages. The detox itself was efficiently organised and never allowed us to be hungry, though when we ate regular food in the restaurant which grows its own produce, we learned what we were missing. The villas are spacious and very well appointed and looked after. They are far enough away from each other to be peaceful, yet the beautiful spaces of the spa and the swimming pool are a place of congregation. The yoga teachers are excellent and with the massages, beauty treatment and free spa are an excellent complement to the detox. The wild mountain side that the resort looks onto would make a visit worthwhile without a detox. There are also excellent treks and cycle rides and other activities to keep one amused. This is a very worthwhile institution that strives to do good to its customers and the benefits are such that it is a pleasure to support its working community."

"Friends recommended we go to this retreat. It is in a drop-dead gorgeous rainforest. Because we were here in the rainy season, it was raining. Still beautiful. Staff attends to every detail to assure that your visit is nothing less than perfect. There are daily yoga and mediation classes. I regularly practice yoga, so the class was basic--still good in the morning. The spring feed swimming pool is beautiful and we enjoyed aqua aerobics. My husband attended the class on making of spa treatments (the only man). He video taped it and I saw the making of the wonderful mask made from all natural ingredients from the area applied to my body during my treatment described below. My husband and I are frequently disappointed in spa treatments on vacation because we get regular massages. Not the case at Bagus Jati. Based on my friends recommendation, I got the Jati-sejati treatment. It is a great massage, hot salt bath, and an amazing warming body mask, followed by what they call a face and head massage but was more like a facial. The treatment was 2 hours and well worth it. My husband liked his barefoot shiatsu massage. Rarely can therapists get deep into his muscles but this did the trick. The food at the restaurant is very good. The breakfast buffet is plentiful. The rooms are the best of the four places we have stayed in Bali. They are beautifully appointed with a shower and a tub in the bathroom. Each unit has a porch with a great view of the forest and lots of privacy. They were mowing the grass when we were sitting on the porch. A call to the front desk stopped the racket of the gas mower. Beware if you hand wash your clothes, they will not dry in the rainy season."

"Bagus Jati is truly spectacular! Beautiful Balinese Villas dot the hillside of a stunning gorge with a waterfall at the bottom. The Yoga room is an open air room where you can hear the waterfall and watch butterflies and dragonflies fly by while you are de stressing your body with the lovely instructors. Amazing therapists with excellent knowledge and skills in Ayurvedic treatments. Food is also Devine and very well presented. Shuttle bus runs daily to Ubud for shopping or there are plenty of other tours available like bicycle tour through Balinese villages. Highly recommend. Also available, is an excellent detox program. Tailored to your needs with a Nutritionist from Denpassar, with Acupuncture also used for optimal results."

"I went there for 5 night Healing Spa Retreat. Where to start? The surroundings are spectacular, the villas are so beautiful (very spacious, facing the forest, not too close from each other to give you plenty of privacy), the facilities are simply g.o.r.g.e.o.u.s from the meditation room, the pool, the spa, the restaurant...being in the middle of the rainforest was so relaxing, and the food is delicious (you get many choices among the set menu for breakfast and dinner and everyday it was a real struggle to pick because everything tasted so good and so fresh). My stay really exceeded my expectations: I was looking for a place to relax and found a safe haven where I felt completely disconnected and so pampered. The spa treatments are the best i have ever had. The hotel offers all sorts of activities (some free) so you cant get bored. Some people will complain that it is difficult to get around because it is all built on very steep slopes but I found it to be a nice walk - it's true you need to be fit - and you can always take the club car if you don't want or can't walk. Now I saved the best for last: the staff. They are so friendly, so warm and smiling and will always go out of their way to please you - they really made me feel special and my stay even more magical.Cant recommend this place enough!!!"

"We stayed for a week as a couples retreat facilitated by a third-party. The location is outstanding, perched high in a jungle surround with beautiful outlooks from everywhere. The bungalows were gorgeous. It is very well appointed and very private. The staff were wonderful, courteous and friendly; they could not do enough for us. The massages were great too. Frankly, we couldn't fault a thing"

"Have just stayed here. My fourth time. Again it hasn't failed me. I find it the perfect place to recharge batteries, refocus and have some downtime. The physical surrounds are beautiful and so peaceful. The staff, food, facilities and activities all excellent.Start your day with yoga overlooked the jungle. Sip ginger tea by the pool in the afternoon watching the monkeys jump from tree to tree. Bagus Jati is isolated. 40 minutes into Ubud. Shuttle provided. This is not the place to come if you don't some quite time, but if you do - it is brilliant!"

"I spent five unforgettable nights at Bagus Jati enjoying my yoga and Ayurvedic package. Upon check-in, I was asked if it was okay if they upgraded me to a superior villa. I did not protest and the big villa was well-designed, beautifully furnished and with fresh flowers all around. The Bagus Jati property is huge and again beauty and harmony is wherever you look; a little fountain here, a Hindu goddess there and tropical flowers all around.Architecture and well-designed gardens are all good. But Bagus Jati is really all about the people working there. Restaurant staff, masseuses, gardeners, drivers, yoga teachers and everyone else responsible for taking care of the property and its guest do their outmost to make your stay a experience of a lifetime. They are all with genuine smiles and with a true interest to help and answer questions about Bali, the property, or anything else. I can truly recommend a body and soul week at Bagus Jati. You will leave a happier and more grateful person than you ever were."

"We did a lot of research for a retreat in Bali and we found Bagus Jati was the most affordable and best value for money. When we arrived, we were a bit worried at first as we were so far away from everything but we soon learnt we really did not need or want to leave the resort. They offered many different packages depending on what you are looking for. We chose to combine two packages which they were more than happy to do.The daily inclusions for all guests such as yoga, meditation, jungle walk, aqua aerobics and much more were fantastic and Budda who ran most the classes was fantastic. We cannot speak more highly of the staff there; I do not have all their names but from reception, to tour guides, to the trainees and even the gardeners were all so lovely and friendly.I had multiple spa treatments in my package, and after receiving my first one from Rustini I requested her every time and she was amazing! There is a vast variety of food including many healthy options which was perfect for us. The grounds are quite big and on a slope so they can enjoy the breathtaking surroundings and they have buggies that can collect you from your room and take you anywhere in the resort. We had some minor issues with ants and lights but as soon as we informed them, they attended to it immediately. The wifi also was not that good even after having it reset a few times but you come here to enjoy the resort and the facilities so maybe this is not such a bad thing. The cooking class was one of the highlights for me we cooked the most delicious food in a traditional outdoor kitchen then got to eat all the goodies. Our room and I think most the rooms have the most beautiful outlook of the hills and greenery. As well as their normal pool there is a natural pool down the bottom of the grounds which is so pretty. Daily afternoon tea is also complimentary for all guests. Bagus Jati is a truly serene and peaceful resort which is sure to please all travellers."

Nyoman and Yuki went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and memorable. The staff, surroundings, the food, the service, all exceptional. Thank you Bagus Jati, you are one special place!."

"I couldn't write more highly of Bagus Jati retreat. I bought the 4 day wellness package. The staffs were incredibly attentive and they went beyond to provide the best service for my needs. The surroundings are amazing and the villas and grounds are kept in immaculate condition. When I fell ill towards the end of my trip, the staff drove me to a medical clinic in Ubud (without charge!), made sure I got the appropriate medical attention and upon returning, made sure that I returned to good health by tailoring my menu to my needs, arranging calls overseas for me and changing my arranged treatments. I would definitely return to Bagus Jati again. And I certainly trust the staff there to take good care of me."
