This program still follows the Wellness Yoga Program but gives more emphasis on yoga and breathwork through special workshops that Bahay Kalipay Retreat Centre only offer during the weekend retreat. Whether you are new to the yoga practice or already have an established routine that you follow, this special weekend full of workshops, raw food, and a Nature Trip is a must to attend!
You will also have the time and space to slow down and flow with the rhythm of our everyday routine here at Bahay Kalipay Retreat Centre - leaving you plenty of room for introspection and inner work with as-needed support for your personal process and healing. Our Retreat Centre space offers the perfect abode to heal your mind, body, and soul. The Weekend Wellness Retreat is held all year round only during Fridays, Saturday, and Sundays, but we suggest, however, to arrive 1 day early to relax and have time to join the Friday nature trip day.
Bahay Kalipay is an intimate ashram style space where guests, teachers and facilitators make themselves at home. Some of our independent structures include Issa hut with double bedrooms, and the Ma-I common space, our personal Dap-ay beach, the healing arts hut we call, Pugad ng Diwata, and Kalipay Cafe, which is also open to the general public for breakfast, lunch and dinner by reservation.
Accommodations include shared dormitory style open-plan rooms, fitted with fans, and mosquito nets. There are private single, couple, and family huts with and without private bathrooms available to some programs. We have a daily onsite staff of kitchen personnel, guest relations and retreat facilitators, and offer daily housekeeping as requested, and as-needed laundry services.
Guests of Bahay Kalipay can take advantage of our gentle detox, deep cleanse program of raw food, yoga classes, workshops, spa services and more. Ma- I space The second-floor split-level room is a large inner dance space designed to provide conditions for healing, silent and insightful spiritual practice. This is where personal early morning meditations are held, as well as yoga classes, and in the afternoons and evenings, inner dance sessions, workshops and other gatherings.
Ma-I and the accommodations area are closed to the public during retreat days and healing workshops and sessions. Pugad ng Diwata healing hut, referred to "the nest" in English, is a space for massage and one-on-one healing sessions. Dap-ay, the functional sandy zen garden, is a venue for tea, meditation and yoga. In the afternoons, the garden is used for soul work workshops and earth healing, while in the evenings it has hosted bonfires, star and moon gazing, drum circles, tribal ceremonies, singing, fire dancing, and cozy conversation.
Kalipay Cafe, our dining room, is the place to enjoy our creatively-prepared raw, organic, vegan cuisine using quality ingredients sourced from certified local producers. It is adorned with a collection of spiritual art by artists who have visited Bahay Kalipay and have left some of their work to share. The cafe is also open to guests who are keen to experience Bahay Kalipay and meet some of the residents.
However, advanced reservation required. Other services include partially-solar powered eco rooms with fans, shared eco-toilet and showers, library, video screening, art, and hammock reading areas, a common workshop area for groups, Labyrinth, and open sandy space for individual meditation and rituals.
The daily programs consist of yoga, meditation, spiritual and educational workshops, as well as cleansing and healing activities and practices. Every Wednesday we partake in total silence and coconut fasting. This is a non-talking, non-doing day where we can take the time to cleanse the mind, body, and soul, and re-energise the self.
Friday's are for our weekly Nature Trip, where we go on an excursion to some of the best spots nature has to offer in Palawan.
Most commonly this trip is to the stunning Nagtabon beach, with a stop along the way to our sister property MAIA Earth Village, an integrative ecovillage community.
Inner Dance, a transformative self-awakening process, is the intuitive remembrance of the true self through heightened inner awareness of bodies, minds and emotions as energy.
Coming to the awareness of this energy brings people to a more strengthened, sustainable and harmonious existence with other beings and the planet itself.
The conscious-kitchen chefs and assistants prepare daily gourmet raw food meals to delight your taste buds, but more importantly to cleanse, balance, and nourish your body. Styles of yoga you may experience during your stay include Hatha, Ashtanga, Kundalini, Vinyasa, Restorative, and Yin yoga.
