This retreat will be held in Fundatica, a beautiful village in southern Transylvania, in the department of Brasov. Next to Fundatica is Bran, a village that represents both a historical place and a legend. Bran is the gateway between Transylvania and Valachia with one side lined by the Piatra Craiului Mountains and the other by the Bucegi Mountains.
Bran hosts one of the most visited castles in Europe, the Dracula Castle, the source which inspired the most fascinating legend of the blood-shedding, Count Dracula. The castle was built by the inhabitants of Brasov from 1377-1382, to protect the mountain pass from the invading Turks.
Although the name of Bran is closely linked to that of the Bran Castle, the region is extremely rich in tourist attractions like the Moieciului Gorges, the Bucegi and Piatra Craiului Mountains, Dambovicioara Cave, Cetatea Rasnovului (Rasnov Fortress), Brasov, and the neighboring Saxon fortresses of Prejmer and Harman.
