You will be staying at Happy Healthy Pokhara Retreat in Pokhara, Nepal, near Lakeside, the tourist zone with restaurants, entertainment, and lake for swimming but far enough from the busy city to create a quiet natural setting and easy walk to the beautiful Seti River Canyon. The accommodation offers a view of the himalayan mountains from the roof terrace.
The room is private with shared bathroom and hot shower all year round. The room has two double beds and one single bed and can accommodate up to 5 persons. If you prefer hotel accommodation, you can book a room at a hotel nearby during the retreat.
Kindly note that tea, water, and fruit are available all day. Each day each guest receives individual health counseling if desired. The schedule is the same each day except on the last day you have the option to be served a transition diet to help the body to get used to eating whole foods again. So, the last day breakfast may consist of whole fruit and plain, unsweetened yogurt with granola or a vegetable omelet with rice. You'll have steamed veggies and rice or vegetable soup for lunch. Dinner is not included on the last day.
You may opt to book more than 3 nights or start with 3 nights and add more later. For best detox results, Happy Healthy Pokhara Retreat recommends 5, 7, or 10 days for best deep cleansing on all levels, body, mind, and spirit (emotional healing).
You are invited to take a trip to a local waterfall, or local swimming heated pool, walk to Lake Fewa, ,orning walks into the amazing Seti River Canyon or to the Lakeside tourist area for entertainment and dining.
Radha is the Creator and Director of Happy Healthy Pokhara Retreat. She has a sociology degree from the School of Learning, Jana Matri College in Kathmandu She is an RYT 200 Hour Yoga Teacher from the Himalayan school of Yoga in Pokhara, Nepal. Radha teaches beginner to intermediate yoga classes at the retreat. She teaches Hatha and Vinyasa yoga. She has five years of training and experience in the application of herbal remedies for health and healing. She also loves to have guests learn Napali cooking and culture.
Albert is a resident volunteer therapist at Happy Healthy Pokhara Retreat. He is a psychotherapist, meditation teacher, massage therapist, and holistic health practitioner. He is experienced in detox and meditation practice and an expert in guiding people through lifestyle changes and internal cleansing and fasting programs. He attended Vinyasa yoga classes for three years and has developed his own style of yoga which he shares with beginner yoga students. Albert is 76 years old and started doing yoga at 50. If he can do it so can you!
What makes Happy Healthy Pokhara Retreat's location special is that they live in a neighborhood that is very much like a village, even though they are at the outer edge of Pokhara City. This allows their guests to experience a village life style and get to know their friendly neighbours and the warm Nepali culture. They are also close to the amazing Seti River canyon, where you can swim most of the year. It's a great place for chilling in nature, watching the eagles catch fish and occasionally seeing hundreds of monkeys passing by on their search for food."
You will be introduced to healthy local Nepali food prepared by Radha in the traditional style. If you like, she will teach you as well. Happy Healthy Pokhara Retreat uses organic food from their garden, as well as from a local organic farm. Because this is a detox program the quantity of food served is reduced to encourage the body to detox. This partial fast allows your body to naturally focus on detoxing instead of having to process and digest food. Lunch is is reduced to a mixture of organic detox supplements.and detox tea. If you are new to the concept of detoxing, you will be surprised at how the body can actually feel more energetic while eating less.
Just a short walk from the retreat ,you may want to escape into the natural beauty of the Seti River Canyon. It is an ideal place to meditate, practice yoga, swim, or just chill and absorb the high vortex of energy this canyon emits. Also nearby is the famous International Mountain Museum.
The Lakeside district of Pokhara offers a wealth of activities, international, local and ethnic restaurants, entertainment, contemporary and traditional music and dance, a brand new sports arena and gym, lake view dining, world-class paragliding, bungy jumping, rafting, swimming, mountain trekking and biking, and even a modified Disneyland. It's a rapidly growing tourist destination to answer the whims of adults, children, nightlife, extreme sports, and alternative health and spiritual pursuits such as yoga and meditation, with various religious attractions and temples where you will find Hindu, Buddhist, Christian, and Muslim folks all in harmony with each other.
The retreat is just a 45-minute walk to lake side or a short taxi ride for only 300 to 400 Nepali Rupees, yet far enough away from this activity to maintain a quiet, peaceful, nourishing connection with nature. The retreat is very close to the awesome beauty of the Seti River Canyon small colourful family gardens. Guests often express feeling a warm home stay ambience and enjoy connecting with the friendly neighbors in a non-commercial environment. The neighborhood is like a small mountain village with the feeling of the authentic Nepali culture. There are a few family redcurrants serving the local menu and some mom and pop shops selling essential convenient snacks, beverages, and supplies. There will never be more than 8 guests and often there will be less, which adds to the individual attention and mellow healing attention you will receive at the retreat.

Please book your flight to arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM). From Kathmandu, you can fly to Pokhara City through Pokhara Airport (PKR) on several domestic airlines. Happy Healthy Pokhara Retreat recommends Yati and Buddha airlines for about 140 USD. It's about a half hour flight.
Happy Healthy Pokhara Retreat recommends Blue Sky Bus to save money in going to Happy Healthy Pokhara Retreat. The bus ride will cost about 7 USD. The trip is 6 hours depending on weather and traffic. It's a very scenic trip and a great way to introduce you to Nepal. Happy Healthy Pokhara Retreat is very close to the airport and the tourist bus station. You can walk to the retreat in about 30 to 45 minutes or take a taxi for about 300 Nepali rupees or 3 USD.
