Littleton Mill is a 17th-century Wiltshire water mill set in ten acres of woodland and meadow on Semington Brook. Its large yoga space looks out over water. They have five spacious double and twin rooms, some en-suite and some with shared bathrooms, all finished to a high standard and painted in calming natural colors. Rooms are allocated on a first come, first served basis, and are newly renovated and stylish.

Juice fasting program

Most people subject their bodies to harmful lifestyles and diets that inhibit the body’s ability to cleanse and heal. Eating a poor diet of processed foods clogs up the digestive system with waste materials and prevents your bodies from absorbing vital nutrients, which can lead to health problems over time.

Fasting allows an incredibly effective cleansing process to take place in the body that reaches down to each and every cell and tissue. After 24 hours of not eating, the energy used for digestion is redirected towards clearing out waste matter, dead and damaged cells, blood gas, microbes, parasites and other toxins from your system.

Without the chemical interference of stimulants like caffeine, nicotine, sugar and alcohol, your body is able to find a better natural balance. A professional nutritional adviser will support you throughout the fasting process after a one-to-one consultation.

During the fast you will consume organic fruit and vegetable juices, spirulina, and vegetable broth to provide you with the vitamins and minerals you need to nurture your body, and detoxifying herbs will aid in the cleansing process. Psyllium husks will provide cleansing bulk and help stave off physical hunger.

Self-administered enemas are done twice daily to help the body to eliminate toxins. Please note that this schedule is merely a guide and subject to change.

    Melissa spent years studying the social and environmental impacts and practices of large food, chemicals and pharmaceutical companies. Her great passions are yoga, well being and sustainable living. She has a diploma in advanced nutrition and teaches healthy eating and nutrition workshops on the retreats.

    Rebecca Andrist is the co-founder of Jiva Healing and has been running healthy eating, detox, and yoga retreats in the United Kingdom and abroad since 2004. She is a qualified nutritional adviser, yoga teacher, and massage therapist who has worked in healing centers in Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, Thailand, and the United States before starting her own business.

    Susie is a professional bodywork therapist with a deep interest in holistic, sports, deep tissue, and no-hands massage techniques alongside acupressure, reflexology, facials, and kinesiology. She has taught massage therapy at the Claire Maxwell-Hudson School of Massage and qualified in ITEC Nutrition and the mehta facial at the Champissage Indian Head School in London.

    Yoga Alliance UK (Yoga)

    Teresa Montano was a professional dancer for many years before becoming involved in yoga. Since the late 1990's, she has been studying with various teachers and traditions and is a fully qualified teacher with Yoga Alliance and Sivananda certification. Her commitment to yoga continues to expand both with her work as a qualified Thai yoga massage therapist and her ongoing studies with the Inner Yoga Trust. She is also an aquatic bodywork therapist.

Driving directions from A350

Littleton Mill is the first left after a car dealer and lay-by on the right hand side. Once you turn into the lane, Littleton Mill is the last house at the very end of the lane.

Driving directions from Devizes

Take the first road on the right after the Lamb on the Strand pub into a country lane.

Driving directions from the M4

If you are driving on the M4, you can either take exit 14 and go through Hungerford, Marlborough, and Devizes (the scenic route) or you can take exit 17 and drive through Chippenham and Melksham on the A350.

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at Bristol Airport (BRS).

Arrival by train

It is very easy to travel to Littleton Mill by train, with regular train lines to London operating from Chippenham, which is a 15-minute drive away and Westbury, which is a 10-minute drive away.

Trains to Chippenham go from London Paddington and take around one hour and 10 minutes. Trains to Westbury from London Paddington and London Waterloo take around one hour 30 minutes. If you book in advance you can take advantage of cheaper fares.

Transfer from and to these stations is available upon request. You will either be picked up at the station for a small fee or a taxi will be organized for you which you may be able to share with other guests.

  • A reservation requires a deposit of 50% of the total price.
  • The deposit is fully refundable if the booking is cancelled up to 45 days before the arrival date.

    PROS Pros: This was my first experience of a Yoga and fasting retreat in Turkey.We were made to feel so welcome as soon as we arrived and our instructor was so informative,helpful and supportive, nothing was too much trouble. The yoga experience was exceptional, leaving us feeling so relaxed in mind & body. I left this retreat feeling fantastic and I would recommend anyone to give it a try as you will not be disappointed with the results . Looking forward to returning next year.

    "I loved the retreat. Lovely spot -a bit hard to find but that's how you want it. Lovely room and bathroom and very well organized weekend with lots of down time and peace and quiet. Yoga teacher was as excellent as the massage. Cookery very informative and practical but not overloading us which was great. Just enough info to spark our imagination and challenge our bad habits in a nice way! Rebecca has an authoritative style but is very welcoming and funny and I felt very well looked after. Great team around her - a very relaxed atmosphere in the kitchen and a lot of laughing all weekend. If I was being picky, I would probably suggest the yoga class was a little too full so room too cosy. Would definitely do another one .already looking.", edited

    "The retreat exceeded every expectation and will definitely lead to permanent changes in my life. The team was fantastic - so loving, warm and inclusive, very knowledgeable and so generous in sharing this with us. They had time for individual attention when this was sought as well as group sessions. Rebecca's food was a real eye-opener - I had thought that I had a pretty healthy diet - well, I will have a much better (and far tastier) one from now on. The yoga was brilliant - for me as a beginner but also for the very experienced participants. Helen who taught the yoga was brilliant, demonstrating and explaining clearly, gently "correcting" moves but most of all injecting fun and lightness whilst still achieving serious practice. There were treatments on offer from Helen and Susie during our free time (which I think we all indulged in and everyone sung their praises) and support from Didi who generously shared her knowledge of nutrition and healing with us. The participants were all really interesting, lovely people and the setting (42 acres) delightful.This was my first retreat - I look forward to more!"

The difference between the two was incredible Jiva Healings program was an incredibly comprehensive, nurturing, and nourishing experience. I have been left with such a positive outlook and changed so many aspects of my life that my friends and family are wondering what on earth went on during just seven days! I arrived very tired, over stressed, emotionally exhausted, overweight and suffering with pain everyday in both knees (post surgery). I left feeling rested, calm and clear, lighter, and for the first time for over a year, pain-free! My energy and concentration levels are still as clear as they were when I left the retreat. I have broken the cycle of bad habits and finally have a relationship with food that I can be proud of. Friends have noticed that I am calmer, more confident and still glowing. The results totally met my expectations in terms of quality of environment and variety of activities (Thai massage, aromatherapy, yoga, etc.) and also in terms of detoxifying, both of body and mind; weight loss was an added bonus! Each time that I have done a fast, I have managed to introduce into my everyday life at least one new 'good' habit learned from the friendly and hard-working team at Jiva Healing.     "The difference with a Jiva Healing retreat and various others that I have attended is that at Jiva, there is a real family vibe. I met so many wonderful people, people who in my day-to-day life I would probably never know. It was amazing how such a lovely group of people came together, and I made some very special connections.The program is very thorough and the staff is like a collective of mothers, ready to help at anytime. Often, during fasting, I prefer to be alone, which is also possible in the chosen locations.Whatever you want (apart from food) is never far on these retreats: love, new friends, yoga, better health and maybe even a little mothering if you feel the need."

Five weeks on I still have a marked difference in my energy level; I feel more alert with the added bonus of being 5 kilos lighter - yes that is just from 6 days of living off juices.     "It was the greatest experience I have ever felt. When we made the circle of angels, so much knowingness and emotion welled up inside me, I actually exploded with tears of love. I have never felt so deep a connection with anyone of my closest family or friends before. In fact, I have not felt so deeply touched since. I would come back to Jiva Healing. I can't wait in fact. Originally, all I wanted was to drop some fat from having my kids. I certainly am not religious, a vegetarian, or even an environmentally friendly person. Horrible as that was, now that I know better (thanks to the education from Jiva Healing), I am on a quest to live up to my own personal potential now. Words just don't express how a person thinks, but what I want to state is that fasting is a healer. I had never missed a meal in my life (and it showed), until I came to Jiva Healing. Oddly enough, my hunger came from excess. I was empty, and fasting made me full again. When I left I felt like people must when they climb Mount Everest or something. It was such an accomplishment, and so easy too. It's amazing how simple life becomes when temptation is taken away. The whole experience was incredibly well planned out, and the staff could not be more friendly and inspiring."

    "I find to fast periodically to be physically liberating and mentally profound, and Jiva Healing was both experiences. Jiva Healing created a structure to the day with classes on nutrition and sustainability. This was informative and ensured that you had some rational reasons as to why you were doing the fast and offered strong routes of understanding to continue when back in the comfort of your own home and surrounded by your old habits.It had all the aspects of an amazing holiday sun, sea, good company, some learning, laughing, relaxing and lots of sleep. Just no food! I came home bounding with energy and raring to go, looking and feeling great. It is definitely worth it. A totally indulgent treat just for you!"

    "Having never fasted before, I arrived at Jiva Healing focused on having a bit of a holiday and thinking if I got some benefits from the fasting along the way, it would be a bonus.The setting was wonderful and the staff was friendly and inviting. The daily nutrition and sustainability courses created a framework that really supported work that we were doing for ourselves during our week there and in the weeks following the retreat. Between the yoga classes, massage, and other therapies there were plenty of things to do and I found myself looking forward to each following day with more enthusiasm than the one before.By the end of the week I was well and truly a changed man. From the inside out I had lost weight, and felt both mentally and physically cleaner, lighter, brighter, and more vibrant. My Chiropractor had even witnessed positive changes in my spine and nervous system as a direct result of the fast. Much of what was learned at the retreat I have taken away and integrated into my daily life. I'm now living a much more sustainable, happier, healthier, and energetic lifestyle than I would ever have thought possible before my week at Jiva Healing!     "I hoped that my week of fasting would leave me rested, relaxed and full of ideas about even better ways to eat. It did so in spades. When I got home to London I felt brilliant, better than I can ever remember. The staff at Jiva that week were fantastic, each with their particular skills, expertise, and manner, making up an excellent team. I would say that anyone who is stressed and really feels like they need a break, while knowing that regular holidays just don't deliver, should definitely go and juice fast for a week. For some people I know and love, I wouldn't just recommend it, I'd prescribe it."

    "This was my very first experience at juice fasting and being away on a retreat detoxing body and mind.Well, where can I start? Firstly, I did it! It was the most amazing experience. Definitely to be repeated as the health benefits are just so rewarding!I arrived in Goa feeling stressed from London life, tired, puffy and bloated with aching joints. By the end of the week I was the most relaxed I've been in years. Happy, as I was feeling slimmer, mentally stronger and much more energized. I had a wonderful feeling on the last session of yoga when I saw how much more mobile and free my joints were. No aches!I cannot recommend this enough! It kick starts you into a wonderful new world of health and well-being. Youre fantastically looked after on the retreat, there's so much support while going through the detoxing process. You also meet wonderful new friends. I enjoyed it!"

Not only did I lose a lot of weight and become more focused mentally, but I also left feeling happier, calmer and like I had met some of the most inspirational and talented women around. I would highly recommend a juice fast to anyone who would like to turn their lives around. The nutritional lessons and the 'In The Kitchen class' really helped me to understand and care more about what I put in my body and the space and free time that the retreat offers means that you leave feeling really relaxed. The daily yoga is a great way to start the day and our yoga teacher, Teresa, was very sensitive to the fact that we were on a fast, choosing simple and relaxing poses and movements. The massages were first class, and the meditation sessions really gave me the opportunity to notice things in nature that can easily be missed. Overall, I would advise anyone to consider going on a juice fast with Jiva Healing, if not for any of those reasons, then for the new-found appreciation you will have for solid food on the last day!"

    "Wow what a feeling! I wasn't sure how much I was going to get out of a week of drinking nothing but juices, green drinks and clear broths, but as I said on my way home: I have never felt this good.I really did find out a lot about my health and happiness, and I have used a lot of the practical methods we learnt during the week to keep myself off caffeine, wheat and dairy. Believe me, I never would have thought that possible.I would advise everyone I know to take a break and go on one of Jiva's retreats with an open mind and open ears. You won't regret it and it might just save your life!"

    "I was particularly impressed with the way that prior to our attendance, Rebecca, kept us informed about what we would need to bring and promptly acknowledged our payment and was upfront about the fact that if not enough people booked and we had to be cancelled, we would be refunded. It was a nice touch that just before we came we received the instructions again. I really appreciated having been kept in touch this way. I loved the venue and found the teachers to be helpful, inspiring and caring. The other participants were a lovely bunch of people. The retreat was really good and I really appreciated the fact that Rebecca e-mailed very promptly all the recipes. This was a good follow up and shows how conscientious she is."

The retreat really kick started a renewed love, not only of great food, but of making it myself which had decreased a lot over the last few years.
