Katerina Resort at the border of Bohemia and Moravia in the Czech Republic is a lovely compound surrounded by tall trees, spring-fed ponds, shaded walkways, a stonehenge-like outlook at 770 m over meadows and valleys, dotted with horses. the birds start singing at 4 a.m. as you slowly awake on your crisp bedding, ready for the detox breakfast and a schedule of yoga, meditation, massages, and lunch and dinner by the ponds on sunny days. My sister and I received individualized schedules and evaluations; the managers even got yoga and meditation instructors who spoke English, just for the two of us, the only foreigners. Arun from Kerala, India, was forceful and tireless in his healing massages--we're still glowing in their after-effects.The only blemish during the week was a soccer team that did their noisy exercises next door to our meditation and carried on noisily into the night. So, if you go, be sure your retreat does not collide with a soccer team!

We had a beautiful weekend stay at Katerina Resort with an amazing head massage and wonderful yoga sessions with a very tuned in yoga instructor, Anna who is super awesome! Our meals were delicious and always delivered with a smile. The pick-up and drop off service to the train was very convenient. The help at the desk was quick and friendly. Thanks so much, this was just the relaxing detox we wanted!
My mum and I attended the Ayurveda detox week and had a wonderful time! The staff is so friendly and they fix everything for you. They are really professionals. The surroundings are beautiful and perfect for running! I was horse riding three days and the horse staff was very skilled and helped me improve my riding. The spa and all the treatments was relaxing and the spa therapists really make you feel relaxed and like a new person. I have been a vegetarian since before so the Ayurveda food suited me perfectly with well balanced meals, and I had a weight drop at 3 kg after the week. I will definitely come back and I truly recommend Katerina Resort.
Thank you for the stay!

I had an amazing weekend at the resort. Yoga classes were at the appropriate level to enjoy and challenge yourself on the meditation. The surrounding place, forest, and energy were perfect for a weekend off from the busy city. Food, service, and spa were excellent. I really enjoyed it.
I was with my wife on a romantic weekend. We really enjoyed the quiet place and hotel services. The staff was very pleasant. The spa and massages are one of the best we experienced. Recommended for rest and relaxation, but it is a good place for bike/hiking trips as well.
I was so lucky to spend a long weekend at Katerina Resort this past weekend. The place is absolutely beautiful, people more friendly than I have ever tried before, and the food is healthy and ever-so yummy. I am destined to come back to Katerina many times for sure. An important thing to add, however, is that staff, instructors and masseurs at Katerina are all very good at Czech, not so good at English. They try their hardest, but if you have never been at a spa before or practised yoga, you should probably not go to Katerina before you know what you are doing. It will be a difficult time.

This resort is above all for relaxing and well-being, no cars (you will leave the car out of resort in the near village), no TV, just you, nature, relaxing programs, wellness, and massages including Ayurvedic. Most of programs are especially designed for women, yoga trainings, weight loss programs. Possible activities include horse riding, golfing-driving range, Nordic walk or just walking.

Well, I was on business trip with my colleagues and we enjoyed it very much. I really appreciate the quality food and peaceful place at all, also the staff was very friendly. The transportation to this resort is little bit difficult, but they provide shuttle service from the town. Stay there, I recommend it.

We found the place very beautiful. Very clean and big rooms. The quality of the food is exceptional. The only things we didn't like were that nobody could speak English or only very few people of the staff. All the notices and signs were written in Czech. We didn't understand anything. I tried to book a massage at the beautiful spa, but at the wellness reception there was a girl who couldn't speak any English so she wasn't able to understand me and I couldn't do my massage. For the rooms, I suggest darker curtains because with the white ones there was too much light comes in. It could be a real paradise, but it needs to improve for the tourists who are not from Czech Republic only.

I went here for a boot camp experience. Let me start with what may have been a problem but wasn't for me: the language. This is a Czech hotel, so most guests speak Czech and not English. On my metabolic balance stay this was quite liberating. It adds to letting go of daily pressures if you cannot express yourself through talking. My important medical appointments and interactions with reception were in English, the rest (Pilates, dinner etc.) was in non verbal comms. I came home many kilograms lighter and in good spirits. I traveled from Prague airport by the airport bus to the central station and from there first class train with one change for more than three hours for 10.10... I was picked up from Pocatky station by the hotel transfer bus. The Czech people I met are without exception extremely friendly! My 11 days at the resort I spent doing lots of sports (Pilates, yoga, Nordic walking, fitness), facials, massages, sauna, drinking water, eating healthily, loosing weight, enjoying the peaceful surroundings, and resting. The price for a spa resort is very reasonable. I am thinking of going back for the Ayurveda program, but can definitely recommend the metabolic balance option as well.

Since my last visit they have improved a few things - drinking water in the room, set of cosmetics liquids in the bathroom. The summary? Delicious food (a bit more expensive but very good quality and perfect presentation on the plate), rich list of good wine, many kind of massages, procedures in the wellness part, beautiful outside jakuzzi (on the terrace), fitness, joga, calm nature around. Just perfect! The only painfull point is an acustic in the main building. You can hear a noise from the corridor to the room and oposite very easily.
Luxury place for relax, big offer of treatments, nice wellness area with professional attitude. Ideal place for sports. Good menu in restaurant with Czech local food. Rental of sports equipment, splendid landscape around.
Was here for the weekend and it was such a great relaxation. Great spa ( recommend to go there Sundays ( less people as it is not so big), the whirlpool is incredible, you get to book your own for 3-4 people, outside on the terrace, ordered a bottle of sparkly wine and enjoyed the view into the woods. Then we had a lovely hour of horse riding with a very pleasant instructor, he spoke English, which made the ride even more entertaining. You also have a great variety of massages and sport activities ( yoga, zumba, pilates, gym, bicycling, nordic walking ) .. The food is alright.. very small options to choose from, and the cooking is not the best, but its not so bad, its manageable. Breakfast were tasty though. But in either case, the aim of this trip is relaxation, and that was achieved, if I could, I would stay another week :)
We were in Svata Katerina for the fifth time, and every time it was great. Last time it was in November and even though the weather wasnt very good, we could still do a lot of activities together with our three year old child hotel wellnes, outdoor jacuzzy, and horse riding and also the wellnes treatment for children. The food is always of high quality, special the food for children, and staff is very helpfull, really focuses on clients' needs. We can higly recomend it.
I spent two and a half days at the resort which was quite short but very relaxing. There are three things I would like to comment on. First is the spa and wellness amenities. They are very nice, the staff is friendly, there is a lot of space and a lot of treatments to choose from. Second thing is the local restaurant. I enjoyed the food, the staff was nice, but I have to say it was a bit pricey. When you consider that you are in the middle of nowhere and have no other choice but to eat at the hotel restaurant it can get a bit boring when you stay longer. Since only breakfast is included, you have to pay extra for every other meal and I did not think it was too fair. It feels as if they have the need to squeeze you out of money. The last thing are the rooms. We stayed in the Gymnasion building and the rooms were quite outdated. Broken tiles in the bathroom, falling hooks off the wall, ugly blue sinks and hospital-like halls. I was OK with no TV in my room. The rooms simply do not match the price you have to pay for them. I would say average three-star quality with 4-star prices. Overall experience was nice, especially the wellness part.

The wellness centre was fabulous and surrounding area are nice to go for a walk. A couple of pointers for those who are going. If you would like a particular type of treatment, I suggest booking in advance as they get booked up quick. The yoga meals are nice but for me different so embrace the change. The yoga teachers have different strengths of English, 90% of the yogis are Czechs, so you will have to keep a close eye on the instructor. If your from the UK, we are a bit prudish in comparison to our European counterparts so expect nudity in the saunas. Not to worry, you don't have to go nude; you can wear swimsuits or a sheet (provided by the resaort) to go in the saunas. Overall, I enjoyed everything about the place and hope to return soon.
A great place to spend the weekend or even the whole week with your partner or friends. Absolutely stunning spa, nice outdoor whirlpools (especially pleasant during winter when the surroundings are covered with snow), great restaurant and friendly staff. I honestly recommend it.
I am not so much into wellness, but the spa really looks good and the Thai massage was one of the best I've ever had. Food is also very nice, and the staff was extremely helpful. The best part is the nature. Surrounded by deep and clean forests, we rode horses and took a great hike. After two days we came back home refreshed, feeling healthy and with a clear head.
This is a second time I visited Resort Svata Katerina and I cannot talk more highly about it! It was truly recharging experience again. Absolutely fantastic place to unwind! Perfect location in the middle of an absolutely beautiful nature. The trees around the resort are phenomenal! We had polite and pleasant staff helping us. The massage was just fantastic (and I do a lot of massages). The Balinese masseur has magical touch - truly! There is a lot of great and healthy food to choose from and please do try their Bramborove Sisky S Makem. Those are to die for! The beds are super comfy to sleep on. The yoga class we attended with Zuzana Klingrova was a bliss! We loved the place and can't wait to visit it again! I highly recommend it!

Are you going to the Czech Republic? Then this is a real must; a combination of wellness and culture. Splendid location of the complex, surrounded by forest, healing spring water, clean air, beautiful nature and rest.Hotel is very clean and equipped with every luxury. Staff is friendly and attentive. We were passing through and had only 1 overnight but once we will definitely come back. It was lovely, we enjoyed the saunas, beautiful relax spaces, massage, and wonderful walks in the area. Breakfast was also well-catered (buffet). What also amazed us were the possibilities of activities. Different kinds of massages and gaskets beauty treatments, workshops, yoga, Zumba, but also sports like golf, tennis, horse riding or cycling, and even drive with sledge dogs.We were also in Telc town, and it was definitely worth it!

We went there to get away from Prague and stress and everything, we couldn't choose better. It was slightly harder to get there and you have to leave your car in a town called Pocatky on the resort's parking lot. We followed instructions given on their website, so we didn't have much trouble. There is a shuttle to the hotel from the parking lot, this part is easy. When we got there the receptionist found out that no one knew about our reservation (via booking), but she promptly managed it, so she got a plus point from us. There are only a few things that I didn't like about this place the walls must be made of paper, you can hear everything from the corridor. The breakfast ham. This is supposed to be a wellness hotel, so I suppose that breakfast ham should contain at least 90% of meat. It didn't. One of the waiters was slightly unkind, but the second one was excellent. The thing that I liked most about this place is their spa. So go there and relax!

My husband and I spent the most fab Valentine's Day here. Upon arrival, we were welcomed by a glass of champagne, following the round of golf at a nearby golf course. Our four-course dinner was delicious and our morning walks around the resort were very relaxing. I fell in love with this place and my husband all over again! I can recommend Katerina resort to every couple anytime.
