The perfect place to get back to myself after traveling...
The yoga sessions were really good and individually adjusted, the ayurvedic treatments were wonderfully calming and pain releasing, and the food was really nice and varied.
The instructors and the owner were such kind, calm souls and always open for any question.
Also the consultation with the doctor was really helpful for me.

Just back in Norway, after 3 weeks in Serendib.
Serendib, Sri Lanka, once more gave me an abundance of all the nice things, happenings and events that this wonderful island has to offer. That is why I like to name her Serendib. As some of you might know, the word Serendipity means: "The ability to make fortunate discoveries by chance." And that is what Sri Lanka is all about. In the old days they said that in the waters of Sri Lanka even the fish are smiling, and if you listen carefully, you might even here them sing.
I wanted to be in a quiet place inland, away from the "stress," and sometimes commercialized life on many of the beaches.
"Mangrove Villa" was the right place.
Roshan, is the name of the young owner. This fairly big plot of land, used to be his family home. Peacefully placed alongside the Bentota river, 15 min in a tuctuc from the beaches of Bentota or Beruwela.
The place consists of three separate guesthouses, the eating hall and the cubicles ror the various treatments and consultations with the doctors.
There is also a nice Yogasahla, where cheeky monkies are watching with great interest as Silva is giving his wonderful soft, relaxing and refreshing Yoga in traditional Hatha Yoga style. Silvas dog, "Rolling Stones," is also joining in, doing some very nice upward and downward dog p

"A small heaven next to Bentota"
Beautiful place to get a yoga and Ayurvedic retreat in Sri Lanka. I stayed there 5 days and it was a real delight. The owner and yoga teacher are really kind and make you feel at home. The place is surrounded by nature and a river. You will have a tasty Sri Lankan breakfast, dinner and snack, always joined by homemade juices and herbal tea.
The yoga classes and Ayurvedic treatments were also amazing, perfect to have some rest. I highly recommend the place !!

"Great morning practice with useful tips.."
About the yoga: I liked the morning yoga practice very much. The instructor was very clear and tried to help the student(s) get into the right posture. After a day I understood his English a bit better, but the movements were very clear.
I also liked that he gave me useful practising tips for back home.
All in all a great contribution to my stay!
About the trips: I liked the riverboat safari and the turtle rescue center. Roshan was very helpful booking the riverboat safari to my preference. The final trip we extended it with a visit to a waterfall; an unexpected but beautiful experience!
About the food: Breakfast and dinner were very tasty, the smoothies were divine. I would have loved to have a bit more variation in the fish though.
About the location: It is a beautiful locatiob, located at the river. Also, Roshan books a personal tuktuk driver. This was really helpful at times!
