Even though it’s supposed to help you get rid of harmful toxins in your body, detox diets have become a controversial topic due to certain people who haven’t followed any guidelines. Before you begin with a detox retreat or cleansing your body, it’s important that you understand exactly what you should and shouldn’t do. If you don’t do proper research, then you may do more harm than good to your body.
Should You Do a Detox?

The truth is that food isn’t of the same quality as it once was. Because of this, we constantly encounter pesticides, toxins, and other harmful chemicals in it. The Do’s and Don’ts of Detoxing

If you don’t consume water on a regular basis throughout the whole day, then you won’t be able to flush out toxins properly. Drinking at least half a gallon of water on a daily basis is a good general rule of thumb.
Don’t stress. In order to ensure that the detox process is a success, you should reduce your stress levels. Whenever you’re stressed out, your body will start losing important nutrients like vitamin B and C. If you don’t enjoy the process, not only will the detox process won’t work, but you may even develop health problems as well.

Don’t follow a detox diet for too long. If you’re on a strict diet plan for too long, you may rebel and start overeating the unhealthy stuff.
