5 Easy Recipes to Detox Your Body at Home

Modern life brings a lot of good things, but it has also brought plenty of bad along. Due to the lack of time and growing population, our food has become more and more unhealthy. 

We now prefer food that is easily available, something fast that would not consume much of our time. And this is when junk food came in!

Our health is being more compromised now than ever. Where modernization made our life easy with machinery, it has also triggered the need for industries, and with industries there is pollution.

I know I may sound like a person who lives in a cave, but this is not the case. I love the gadgets lying around us making this world a global village and making our days better than before, but to shut down your eyes to the wrong things is not just OK, is it?

The primary concern for me is the toxins in our body that are making our colon, mind and overall health worse than ever. But we can make it better. You may have heard about detox types and recipes, and you may also have thought that while it sounds good and looks yummy, it may not be as effective as some claim them to be. Take it from a person who has lost almost 5kgs in a month: detox does work! Of course, you have to show commitment and restrict yourself to few meals, but it’s all worth it.

Want to give it a try and start your own detox diet? Here are some detox water recipes which have proven to be the best in draining out the toxins from your body. There are hundreds of methods that can be used for preparing you detox, but the following are the ones that can quickly be prepared with the ingredients lying around your kitchen


Green tea, cinnamon & lemon

This one is my personal favorite. Just toss all the ingredients in a jug overnight and drink it in the morning:

  • One glass of water
  • One teaspoon of green tea
  • One cinnamon stick
  • One teaspoon of ginger
  • Half a lemon

You will feel a little hungrier after having a glass of it in the morning. Learn to control your urges or have a fruit or a healthy snack.


Orange & blackberry

Drink it throughout the day to see better effects:

  • Five glasses of water
  • Two squeezed oranges
  • A handful of blackberries

Dunk in all the ingredients for two hours before consumption or for 24 hours for best results. You can drink it with ice cubes but drinks like these work better when they are served at room temperature.


Lemon & ginger

It is said that whoever takes a lemon a day never gets fat. Lemon has citric acid in it that helps in boosting our metabolism and fills us up with vitamin C. Ginger is extremely good for our heart and blood.

  • One glass of water
  • Half a lemon
  • Half an inch knob of ginger root

Add it all up and drink it after two hours. To have it throughout the day increase the amount of each ingredient.


Watermelon, mint & lemon

People who are fond of soda and are now trying to live a better and healthy lifestyle must try this drink to satisfy their cravings.

  • Two cups of watermelon
  • Four glasses of water
  • Few leaves of mint
  • Half a lemon (optional)

Girls with menstrual problems or low flow should eliminate mint from the drink.


Apple cider, lemon & cinnamon

This recipe has everything that is good for your taste buds and body.

  • Two glasses of water
  • One tablespoon of apple cider vinegar
  • Half a lemon
  • One or half an apple (sliced)
  • One cinnamon stick

I recommend eating the apple after drinking the water as it helps you feel fuller for the longest time.
