Our 17th century house is a haven of peace and quiet in the Quantock Hills, not far from Glastonbury, in Somerset. You can come to us for a weekend on juicing or raw food, using recipes designed to combat a range of illnesses as well as deliver a gentle detox to your system. The menu can be individualized to take into account food sensitivities or reactions. We can also advise on detox programs and lifestyle changes for when you go home.
Our place is very peaceful and quiet. There are 2 beautiful ensuite guest rooms, one double and one twin bedded. For extra guests we can sometimes offer a comfortable double sofa bed in ‘the quiet room’ in the converted loft, with its own shower room. There is a woodburning stove in the sitting room, and an open fire in the dining room. There is a large ancient barn in the garden, which could be used for a tent, and a nice big lawn surrounded by flowerbeds and trees for sitting out on sunny afternoons.
The Quantock Hills are a truly unspoilt area of natural beauty, off the general tourist track. There are beautiful valleys full of snowdrops, bluebell woods, and heather clad moors, depending on the season. Also lots of pretty villages with ancient churches, hilltops where you can walk for miles with views of the Somerset levels (we are fortunate to be above the flood plain) or across to Wales. Glastonbury and Wells are only 30-45 minutes drive and are fascinating ancient places of pilgrimage. We give you lots of information to read about them! We are 5-7 miles from the towns of Taunton and Bridgwater which have good transport links, with taxis from train or coach stations. Or we can pick you up by prior arrangement. There is parking at the house.

This is a method similar to acupuncture, but without the needles. Instead, a pen light with 11 different colours is applied to the skin on specific points. It has been proved that the cells of the body naturally communicate through the frequency of light. Each colour carries a particular frequency, sending a healing message which the body can absorb to facilitate balance and health. CLT reaches beyond the conscious mind into the subconscious, where old wounds and traumas sit as blockages in our energy, and releases them. Research over 40 years has led to the creation of a range of treatments. These include:
In general, massage is the manipulation of superficial and deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue using various techniques, to enhance function, aid in the healing process, decrease muscle reflex activity, inhibit motor-neuron excitability, promote relaxation and well-being, and as a recreational activity. As well as general massage techniques here are other approaches which are very effective which we can offer such as:
Indian head massage / Champissage
Champissage is based in the ayurvedic system of healing which has been practised in India for over a thousand years. It includes massage of the shoulders, upper arms, neck, scalp, face and ears, with energy balancing to complete the treatment. It is especially good for relieving stress, tension, headaches and sinusitis. It soothes, comforts and rebalances your energy flow which gives a deep sense of peace, calm and tranquility.
Lymphatic drainage massage
This deeply relaxing massage is gentle, light and rythmic and very effective at detoxifying the whole body. It helps to eliminate waste products and excess fluids resulting in the reduction of fluid retention and puffiness of important areas like the face and ankles. By improving the lymph flow, this massage enhances the quality of the skin, especially on the face, giving an instant natural ‘face lift’. It can also relieve conditions such as sinusitis and boost a sluggish immune system.
