During this retreat, you will stay in a cottage at West Lexham. The venue is a work of passion and is crafted out of the heritage building that are the legacy of over 1,000 years of farming and stewardship of nature.

Summer is the perfect time for the body to cleanse fully, allowing for deep relaxation and regeneration. Rina would love you to join her on a journey deeper into what wellbeing means for you, and from that knowledge to find sustainable, practical ways to bring about positive change in your life. The retreats provide a gentle way to cleanse, nourish, rebalance your system, allowing you to return to your self.

Your body is already an expert at detoxifying and restarting itself, what I provide is time, space, methods, and practices to help you help yourself and find a more balanced lifestyle. Rina runs a number of seasonally tailored retreats throughout the year. The groups are small (no more than 18 people) so that she can spend time with each participant and for the period of the retreat, you can spend time together as a living community.

The retreat does not entail harsh regimes or fasting. You will practice yoga together, exploring physical, mental and spiritual balance through movement and breath. You and Rina will cook and eat together learning how food can nourish our bodies and balance your entire selves. You will reconnect with nature and with our natural selves in the beautiful family run, ecological spaces that Rina has carefully chosen for the retreat.

Yoga

Teaching yoga is a joy Rina has had the opportunity offer guidance on the mat for the last 13 years. During the retreat, she offers supportive playful classes suited to beginners as well as those who have spent more time on a yogic path. The classes focus on the liver and lymphatic system meridians using vinyasa and Restorative yoga and breathing exercises to regenerate and support the nervous system. You will also look at companion breathing exercises to help alkalize the body and stimulate the liver function.

You will finish the sessions with meditation or yoga Nidra, an ancient form of deep relaxation to set an intention and release deep tensions. Rina's retreats combine structure and space to just be; action and relaxation; opportunity for learning and reconnecting; opportunity for reflection. They start on Fridays at 4:00 p.m. (it’s okay to be late, just let her know) and finish at 3:00 p.m. on Sundays.

    Rina is a well-being advocate, coach, yoga teacher, and healthy-living enthusiast. Rina went to India to deepen her understanding of Ayurvedic medicine, yogic conscious living, and the age-old laws of the mystics. Rina initiated into the ancient art of yoga at the Sivananda Ashram in Kerala. She currently hosts detox or cleansing weekends and worldwide retreats, private vibrant lifestyle coaching, holistic rehabilitation programs, and private detox sessions. She is passionate about a balanced and holistic health.

This retreat will take place at West Lexham in Norfolk, UK. West Lexham is a unique venue for rural retreats or countryside holidays. It is set in a protected valley with the UK's cleanest chalk stream it is verdant and bursting with nature.

West Lexham has floating water meadows, ancient trees, lakes, and formal gardens for you to explore. The venue is almost run on renewables with solar panels for power and a woodchip boiler for heat. All the water is fresh from the chalk aquifer making it rich in minerals and taste delicious.

Together, you and Rina Golan will prepare and eat both cooked and raw foods chosen to nourish the body and support mental and physical balance. Nourishment is a core element of Rina Golan's work and the retreats include guidance and education of how you can use food to rejuvenate the self.

During you and Rina Golan's time together, you will learn how to prepare superfood shakes, smoothies, cook healthy delicious food, including raw chocolate and turmeric shots (all sugar, gluten, and animal protein free).

Be an adventurer

Bewilderwood is a huge, award winning forest of family fun and outdoor adventure. Treehouses, zip wires, jungle bridges,crocklebogs, twiggles and boggles, storytelling, boat trips, marsh walks, and really yummy food are available in this location.

Discover Castle Acre

The village of Castle Acre takes its name from the walled castle built in the 12th-century by the Normans, with its ruins of a medieval priory and castle standing proud against the local countryside, it is walkable at just two and a half miles from West Lexham.

Explore the Green Britain Center

The Green Britain Center, designed by the famous architect Sir Norman Foster, has some absolutely unique displays and information focused on the big three issues, energy, transport, and food. Just miles from West Lexham, you can climb the 300 steps of the only wind turbine in the world which is open to the public. Don't worry you can stop at platforms on the way up for a breather!

Go ape

Enjoy two to three hours in the trees taking on zip wires, Tarzan swings, rope ladders, and a variety of obstacles and crossings. Climb and conquer some of East Anglian's oldest Douglas Fir trees in the heart of Thetford Forest. The course layout leads you on a journey around the site with each section hidden from view by a mass of rhododendrons and native scrub. Test your wits on site three and experience go ape's longest stirrups crossing. It gives a whole new meaning to horseplay!

Take the Peddars Way Walk

This path runs only a mile or so from West Lexham. A 46-mile national trail from near Thetford to Holme-next-the-Sea on the North Norfolk coast. The walk follows an old Roman road that may have been built along an even older trackway. It connects with the North Norfolk Coast path and is easy walking.

During this retreat, you can book a massage or body treatment for an additional cost. Reiki and cosmetic acupuncture are available for approximately 65 GBP for a one hour session.

Please book your flight to arrive at London Stansted Airport (STN). Transfer from and to this airport is available upon request.

Arrival by bus

The X1 bus goes from Norwich and Kings Lynn to Swaffham which is the nearest town.

Arrival by train

The nearest train station is Downham Market. Trains run from London Kings Cross to Downham Market every hour and every half hour at certain peak times. Journey times are approximately one hour and 25 minutes. Network Railcards give you a discount off fares. If you are taking more than one train journey in the South of England or are traveling in a group it is well worth investigating.

If you arrived at London Stansted Airport (STN), you can take a train to Ely then change for a train to Downham Market.
