Life gives us the choice to work on ourselves or to neglect our wellbeing and if we choose to take care of our health, we can to do so with guidance and helpful information. Due to modern diets and lifestyles, our bodies contain toxins and waste that have accumulated over many years. On many levels we may not even be aware of it. It may not yet be chronic. At the same time, we dont feel whole, we know our bodies are not functioning as well as they should and we may even feel a lack of energy and fatigue. We need to redress this situation. We need to clean out, refresh and revitalize. Not just physically, but on all levels of our being, both psychological and spiritual. Our body may function better but we also feel more connected, upbeat and we gain a greater capacity for peace of mind. Needless to say, this does not come cheap. It requires some effort, some sacrifice and a lot of commitment. This is what a detox program is all about and it is the aim of the yoga and detox program at Samahita Retreat to facilitate this process for you.
In this retreat, detox is approached from a holistic point of view. The program is informed by ancient Ayurvedic wisdom, along with modern nutrition and physiology. A specially developed Ayurvedic herbal formula is employed to help detoxify the bodys tissues and to remove wastes from the liver. In addition to this, you will benefit from daily yoga practices and breath work, far infrared sauna therapy, body treatments and a restriction on your diet so that you can focus more on cleansing and alkalizing through juices, foods and water.
The program comes from the combination of science and direct personal experience. It is professionally administered in an environment of care and love. The detox process can pose challenges as well as tremendous shifts and benefits. You will be supported in all aspects of your journey toward greater health.
Everyone these days should benefit from a detox. We are barraged with toxins from our foods and environment throughout our lives and a detox is a chance to reverse some of the damage that has been done, as well as to kick start new, healthy habits, heal diseases and generally to feel more radiant, energized and full about life.
Aside from the general cleansing needed in our world today, a detox program can also kick-start the healing process of many diseases, such as: skin problems, digestive problems, mood swings, insomnia, depression, anxiety, stress and more.
Each participant has the choice, though it is recommended, to add the optional liver and gallbladder flush towards the end of the detox program. This flush significantly aids the detoxification process. The liver flush helps prevent gall stones, lowers cholesterol levels in the blood, can reduce referred pains from the liver or gall bladder (e.g. shoulder pains), reduces and prevents liver-related headaches and migraines (i.e. those associated with nausea), helps with food allergies, helps in weight reduction, constipation and improves vitality levels.
Detox works by putting healthy, alkaline foods into the body, which wake up the sleeping waste matter and toxins in the body. Once the toxins are released, they must be eliminated from the body. So the saying goes that a detox is 50% what you put in, 50% what comes out. Thus, elimination is very important during a detox. %If a detox program does not include elimination techniques, it is in reality just more of a low-calorie diet - which serves an entirely different purpose! The daily detox support meeting with the professional team provides you the opportunity to adjust your program as needed; the team will always be standing by to support you.
