We where hesitant on what to do with our 11 days in Costa Rica and finally we decided to stay in this place only :). Thanks god! No cars, no buses etc, just bikes and joy!!! The bungalow was beautiful, clean, comfortable! It was magical to wake up with the sound of the birds, monkeys etc
We were afraid we would found bugs in the room but not at all! It's has been amazing
We found a magic place in which every member of the staff is a special person that makes TdS such an special and magical place. You really get the chance to connect with nature and it's only 8' away to the beautiful beach (walking distance)
The food is so fresh and organic that you heal yourself in record time.
We will definitely come back again, and if you are planning to go, make sure you leave everything in the hands of Dr. Greg!

It's easy to miss the entrance to TDS, since the sign is on the gate facing the road. But if you've reached Shawanda Lodge, you've gone too far. It was a bit tricky making a direct booking, but ultimately cheaper than going through booking.com. We had an enjoyable time, going down to the beach and soaking up the sand and beautifully warm sea. Not many people around at the end of September. We were warmly welcomed and shown to our cabin. The balcony with hammock really made it; there's not enough space in the bedroom to sit down. There's an overhead fan and a free-standing one (which didn't work) and it wasn't as warm as we expected in the evening. Get used to the howler monkeys and noise of the rain - this is Costa Rica after all! There's no need to wander far for eating, with Pucinella just across the road serving good, basic and reasonably priced Italian fare. There's a supermarket a few hundred metres away where you can get stuff for breakfast and lunch. TDS breakfast is wholesome but over-priced at $10. And remember this is a vegan hotel! You're not supposed to drink alcohol in your room (yes, matron) though no one reprimanded us for the empty wine bottle. As the title says, it was comfortable and convenient but nothing outstanding. Wi-fi works fine around reception. It's expensive at US$110 a night (low season), and the 5% charge for using credit cards could surely be built into the cost of the room.

We found Tierra de Suenos by a Group On offer and wow am I glad we did! While it did take a few hours to get there, it was definitely worth the trip. The property was stunning, well maintained and spotless! We loved meeting Mariela and her family when we arrived and our bungalow was gorgeous with a beautiful canopy bed and well kept bath. The sounds of the jungle were mesmerizing at night and we loved to explore the area during the day. Breakfast was exquisite being made of fruit and other local ingredients and served out on an open patio. They offered yoga daily as well as connected us with any kind of excursion we might have wanted. The area around Tierra de Suenos offered many things to see and even a very nice beach! I definitely recommend Tierra de Suenos for a wonderful place to relax and rejuvenate!

I brought 8 people to Tierra de Suenos for a Yoga Pilates retreat. We had a wonderful and relaxing time!!!
The staff are very accommodating and helpful. They went above and beyond my expectations to help make our stay comfortable and easy. The food is incredible.
They are located just a short walk to the beach.
The yoga space is so beautiful...you'll be doing yoga and you will see the most amazing birds and animals!
I'd recommend renting a car to get around.
Everything was great, we had an amazing time! Our bungalow was very clean & equipped with everything we needed--even mosquito netting over the bed. The breakfasts were fresh and yummy, yoga class very relaxing and the weather was perfect. If you like being secluded and surrounded by nature then this is the place for you. Plenty of great places to eat close by within walking or biking distance. I wish we could have stayed longer, maybe next visit!

From the moment we arrived we were treated with the utmost kindness even though we arrived just before they were ready to close down for the night. In the morning we got our bearings and the place that we found ourselves in was absolutely beautiful. The lodge has only a few bungalows spaced apart so you feel like you are alone in the jungle. They offer breakfast and dinner on their open air patio near reception. There is a very nice yoga studio with daily classes. The lodge is nicely located just a short 10min drive or 20min walk to Puetro Viejo, a quaint little beach town with many beaches that is full of very friendly and helpful people. I can't wait till we get the chance to go back.
I led a yoga retreat at Tierra de Suenos and was impressed with how seriously amazing the food was and how accommodating the kind staff was to us! The yoga space was beautiful and tucked away in the jungle. Our cabanas were not large, but all we needed, comfortable, and charming. I highly recommend staying here.

Warm, caring, attentive staff. A place for reflection, good high vibration foods, a place to let go, detox. Beautiful beach across the street. Highly recommend. Yoga studio and lovely community space. Totally bathing in nature's energy with wonderful local, healthy food to help your body heal, restore and relax.

This hotel is just beautifull. You'll sleep on a really nice Bungalow in the middle of the tropical forest, surrounded by the sounds of the nature, just a few walk to paradise Caribbean beaches. The Boungalows are equipped with a hand crafted wooden bed with a mosquito need that create a romantic and peaceful ambience. On the front terrace you'll have the perfect hammock to found your harmony back and forget all the stress. There is a lot of places for dining on the area with a diversity of Caribbean and organic food. Please don't leave Puerto Viejo untill you taste the delicious chocolates from Caribbean's they are just delightful. Definitely a place to love and come back over and over again.

This was a beautiful hotel in a beautiful location. Alejandro was a great host. Very helpful and gracious. We did our best to communicate in broken Spanish and English. Just be pre warned that there is no wifi or hot water. It was nice to disconnect and unplug for the weekend but we did not know that going into it. The beach right across from the hotel is the most beautiful in the region (in my opinion) and breakfast was perfect! I wish we could have taken a yoga class, but the instructor was out the time we were there. But it is a nice escape in the middle of jungle with access to the beach.

Plain and simple, this place is amazing! Peaceful and quiet. A little stream runs past my bugalow next to a tree that could easily be over 200 years old as I swing peacefully in a hammock on the porch. Like I said awesome! Beautiful area for yoga with sauna. Playa chiquita is gorgeous and nearby, a little walk through the jungle to what feels like your private beach. Water is a little rough & with some rocks and coral but there is an area to swim. I purchased a boot camp package that included all my meals. Every meal was healthy and delicious at Tierra de los Suenos! Their is Wi-Fi in the lounge. Alejandro was a most gracious host and excellent chef. Tierra de los suenos lodge was so lovely. I would highly recommend to anyone considering this property.

My stay at Tierra de Suenos was truly a dream. Alejandro and Daniela were wonderfully accommodating. My cleanse went smoothly and the meals thereafter were phenomenal. Alejandro shows exceptional skills and passion for hospitality, food, and resources management. He has a pleasant and effective manner with the grounds crew. I also noticed that the premises are consistently clean and tidy. Daniela is a valuable asset with her business savvy and bilingual skills. You are fortunate to have found the perfect team to manage your property. Peace, Cheryl

I had the great privilege of staying at Tierra de Suenos in July for a weekend visit to Puerto Viejo. I was debating several different places to stay at and settled on Tierra de Suenos because of its good reviews and proximity to Playa Chiquita. So glad I did! I had a beautiful little bungalow in the middle of the rainforest that - while simple - was exactly what I was looking for. The bed was cozy, it was great having hot water, and I absolutely adore my porch area with a hammock. It did rain most of my time there, but I loved it just the same, spending a lot of time reading on the hammock (it was a solo trip just looking for relaxation, anyway). I loved hearing all the howler monkeys and there was a lot of wildlife itself on the property. It is a short and easy walk to the beach, although I did need to ask for directions. :-) Both Maria and Alejandro were awesome, kind, and genuinely helpful. Breakfast was also delicious and healthy. I can't wait to go back!

Loved it here, we had an awesome treehouse and saw animals we didn't see elsewhere which was exciting. We slept in a treehouse and had a bathroom with a huge shower, five of us had no problems with the accommodations and enjoyed sitting on the deck with a bench, chairs and hammock. Great staff, very friendly and gave us coffee, fruit and eggs and toast for breakfast which was unexpected and a nice treat in an outdoor setting. Even without a reservation we felt welcomed and the staff did everything possible to accommodate us.we loved the natural, jungle setting and can't wait to go back. You will not regret staying here. Peace.
