Hotel Torre Sant Joan is an antique Spanish finca located in a peaceful residential area with gardens, large terraces, sitting rooms with fireplaces, and a library. The hotel is located in a famous micro-climate with mild temperatures and much sunlight in the winter months.

The hotel has 26 rooms with complete bathrooms, air conditioning, heating, telephones, safes, TVs with international channels, and free internet connection. It features single, double, and triple rooms, four superior double rooms (one of them with a fire place), three junior suites, and a suite with a fire place and a big terrace with views of the garden.

During this detox and yoga retreat, you will explore silent and noble silent periods (discussion and instructions will be given, and Rachel will be around to talk to if you need help). You will experience detox from all types of screens for the period of the retreat - this means no phones, iPads, tablets, and computers.

You will practice deep and ancient cleansing techniques for your body and mind (these ancient cleansing techniques are deep and effective, and they include nauli, kapal bhaiti, neti), yoga Nidra to relax the mind and body, and Yin yoga to slow down your mind and body, watching the ebb and flow of sensations and patterns.

You will have fun with moving meditations and art meditations and discussions, have the benefit of a small yoga library, and enjoy practicing yoga by the pool and on the beach. There is also the option for water sports, should the group decide that it would like to do them. Last but not least, you will enjoy Laughter yoga.

Everything is optional, so long as it is discussed with Rachel. Please do not feel pressured by anything; the group can work with any situation or issue.

During this detox and yoga retreat, you will enjoy a wonderful vegan menu with gluten-free options prepared by a wonderful chef.. No caffeine or sugar will be available during the four days. You will also have early morning cleansing ginger, lemon, and lemon grass tea.

You will have the option for smoothies, juices, and health shots (wheat grass and similar) during the middle of the day and early morning. There will be no caffeine or alcohol available during the retreat.

    This was my first yoga retreat and it was fantastic.

    PROS Pros: As a beginner I was unsure what to expect but the yoga teachers Rach and Amanda were fantastic in teaching all levels and abilities. The venue, facilities, food and teaching were fab. I would definitely recommend to anyone interested even as a complete beginner.

    "I first met Rach during the Om & Bass Yoga Festival that she organises in Braziers Park, Wallingford. With her Multi coloured mohawk wig and bright pink tutu! I thought, never had I seen a yoga teacher like it! Haha!"

But having been to a couple of Rach's classes now, i can safely say that yoga is looking to become something im more interested in! "

    "Lots of people go to a retreat for a reason, I went for the love of yoga and got so much more! The House and surroundings are beautiful, loved the Yoga, I've been practicing for a while and felt like I got so much more out of the practice with Rach, I've even signed up for her weekly Yoga classes even though I have to travel it's worth it when you find a great teacher. Great itinerary with a mix of activities to take your mind off detoxing. The food was really good (not something you normally hear on a detox) but it really was! Freshly made, locally sourced, delicious and made with peace and love! It was my first retreat and at the risk of sounding dramatic it was life changing! I'd recommend this retreat for's a must!"

    "I chose a detox A which comprised of fruit teas, smoothies and soup. I thought "what the heck..lets go the full hog". After an introduction to my fellow yogis we enjoyed actually i have to say, the best pumpkin soup i have ever tasted. What a relief detox food is tasty."

    "I unpacked my bags in a huge 3 bed dorm and met my room companions before heading down to the open basement, a beautifully set out yoga space with laid out mats, bolsters, blocks and stretching straps. The window sills were beautifully and calmingly adorned with irnate candle holders, ornamental elephants and an array of healing gems this is it, I am ready to welcome back my inner self."

I have to say very painless and rather more satisfying. We undertook some delicious flow work and i felt my steel body gently soften to bamboo. We completed the session with a beautiful guided meditation taking us on a tour of every part of our bodies. I very nearly fell asleep at this point listening to Rachel's soft and gentle voice. We finished with a beautiful melody of Oms."

    "Another fantastic shake digested and scrub in the shower and i was off for a lovely dip in the salt hot tub enjoying the steamy bubbles then lunch. Beetroot and horseradish soup plus many more tasty ingredients, detox is delicious!"

    "Now for breathing alchemy with our second teacher Karen. This involved lying down and breathing through a wide mouth, strange to be sure and my mouth was getting dry quickly, just as Karen started to mention that this happens to start with and soon you wont notice and sure enough, my next journey climbing mountains and casting my unwanted baggage away, just watch the rucksacks and rocks tumble down behind me. I realised that despite my gaping mouth, i was smiling well on my way to finding that little lost soul inside of me. A full stop with a gentle Om and we drifted back into the living area of the house."

Great session finishing with 9 harmonious Oms followed by breakfast and reluctant packing. Then my Reiki session had arrived. Rachel's healing hands set to work and their warmth and energy flowing right through me. My two wantant chakras coming to light and oh so true absolutely spot on."

    "We were all off for a walk in the rain. Hopped into a couple of cars and into the countryside. We were met by a beautiful wooded area and instantly adopted by a lovely little dog, delighted with our bubbly troup passing by. Time for photos and a quick dash through the worsening rain back to our cars and home to our retreat. Lunch and greeted with a comforting hot soup rest then our final session of yoga."

    "Her retreats which takes place in beautiful places in Europe got the same positive vibe. They're good, fun and got the right amount of seriousness. Rachel helps with anything you may need help for before and during the trip. The groups are a good size not to big and it's easy to get involved with everyone. At one of the retreats I did, we did some kickboxing too, which was great and in some way it matched the whole yoga vibe too.Really awesome and great retreats, cant recommend these retreats more. Rachel does a great job."

    "I attended a retreat in November 2014 at Braziers Park in Oxford. This was a life changing experience for me. Rachel is really down to earth and unique in her style and way of being. Her big smile and intuitive nature allows yogi's of all levels to ease in with confidence. As well as being affordable, these retreats provide a totally enriching space, leaving yogi's ready to go home feeling totally fantastic! I will be attending as many as I can - next stop, the Wales Retreat in July 2015. I highly recommend you to sign up and experience this; there will be laughter, deep rejuvenating sleep, superb people, fresh air, good food, incredible energy and a wonderful opportunity to explore the self in a safe and loving environment."

    "The Easter weekend retreat at Braziers Park was fantastic. The yoga classes were challenging (especially the pre-breakfast classes!) but great fun and I learnt a lot. We also experimented with different forms of meditation and I particularly enjoyed the art mediation. I was really pleased that we learnt some Thai yoga massage techniques too. All in all it was a lovely weekend with lovely people, lovely food and lovely surroundings! I was very sad to leave on the Sunday afternoon. I would definitely recommend a retreat with Rach (Wild Human/Yoga Lovin'), she's bonkers but great!"

    "I went to the Yoga retreat in Croatia last year and had an amazing time. Yoga and meditation on a mountain top is incredible and I came back fully recharged. Rachel is an wonderful yoga teacher. Her style is relaxed and accessible for people of all abilities. I love the fact that she will make you comfortable with how much you want to do yourself but will also teach you to challenge yourself and make better progress. There are also times when you need your arse kicked into shape and she's not afraid to do that! Above all, the classes are fun and you will always have a feeling of well being after.I would definitely recommend it especially if you are on a budget. It is affordable for people who may not otherwise have the means for an expensive retreat."
