Ayurveda

Ayurveda relies on the concept of balancing Doshas (body’s energy), enhancing the power of digestion, the optimum function of dhatus (fundamental elements of the body), efficient elimination of waste products, and the balanced blissful state of mind, soul, and senses. All therapies and techniques are curative and promotive in nature.

Practiced by the great sages of ancient India, Ayurveda is a 5,000-year-old system of holistic medicine defined as Knowledge of Life (Ayu meaning life and Veda meaning knowledge). The Ayurveda program offers a truly authentic, comprehensive, and customized experience that is designed for each individual guest.

The experienced practitioners and specialists create a personalized wellness program that is focused on restoring the health and balance of guests through Eastern holistic therapies and guidance from an authentic Indian perspective. Naturopathy

Naturopathy is a self-healing system that focuses on realigning the elements of the body through a disciplined daily routine and therapies that cleanse and detoxify the various organs in the body. At YO1, the counselors also create a diet and nutrition program with regular juicing, intermittent fasting, high intake of water, and an all-organic, plant-based vegetarian diet that is ideal to optimize immunity.

Human beings have remarkable recuperative powers that can heal the body on its own without external chemical or surgical interference, which simply suppresses symptoms but does not heal nor remove the root cause of the disease. Naturopathy seeks to heal the body by promoting its own internal processes.

At YO1, the Naturopathy program offers customized guidance on your healing journey to make the rest of your life the best of your life. Highly credible and respected practitioners and therapists will educate you about internal hygienic conditions like proper digestion, elimination of mineral waste through the kidneys, waste elimination through the intestines, sweating through the skin, and carbon dioxide elimination through the lungs. Yoga

Yogic kriyas cleanse the body and mind and enhance the resistance of the individual towards infections. Asanas balance every system in the body and make it stronger to fight against any infection while Pranayama enhances the pranic energy in the Nadis invariably assisting the individual to perform to the optimum level both physically and mentally. Meditation reduces stress levels, improves sleep patterns contributing to mental and emotional health.

At YO1, they have a team of certified Yoga instructors who will guide you in a safe practice to help deepen your understanding of Yoga physically, mentally, and spiritually. They offer group classes as well as private sessions in various Yoga techniques such as (but not limited to) Hatha yoga, Meditation, Aqua Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Therapeutic and alignment-based yoga, Pranayama, Kriyas, and Yoga Nidra. In scheduled group classes, they offer guests Hatha Yoga.

The compassionate experts use their experience, understanding, and wisdom to guide guests through a series of yoga postures and cleansing techniques that will help guests experience a newfound peace and confidence. Yoga therapies seek to not only calm the mind and leave guests feeling revitalized but promote optimal health of the body and longevity.

  • Hatha yoga - 45-60 Minutes

Hatha is a very broad term that encompasses all the physical practices of yoga such as Asanas (physical postures), Pranayama (breathing exercises), and Meditation. In the word Hatha, ha means “sun,” and tha means “moon.” Therefore, “Hatha yoga” is the practice that enables a practitioner to balance his or her solar and lunar energies.

They understand at YO1 that everybody is unique, and people will be of various experience levels. They accommodate through offering private sessions, adjustments in class, and through the use of modifications and props to help support you as best as possible.

Benefits: Hatha yoga regulates the flow of prana and brings about physical and mental wellness. The asanas strengthen and detoxifies the body and improve muscle and joint flexibility. It induces deeper physiologic, psychic, and mental changes and takes you to a higher level of awareness. Hatha yoga helps to strengthen the body and the mind gains flexibility, strength, stamina, and balance.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture helps strengthen the immune system by increasing red and white blood cell counts and producing T-cells. One of the best parts of Acupuncture is that the increased cellular response lasts even after the session.

At YO1, you can find highly experienced licensed acupuncturists that will integrate acupuncture and other traditional Chinese therapies into your wellness plan. Acupuncture itself is the art of stimulating specific points on the body and opening blockages that could be leading to pain, low energy, bloating, and reduced function of organs.

Like all therapies at YO1, you will be evaluated for your unique concerns and conditions before you participate in acupuncture therapy. Depending on your diagnosis and plan, you may receive the healing benefits of acupuncture every day or every other day. This will ensure that the diet, yoga, and other therapies you are undergoing during your stay are effectively synchronized with your acupuncture therapy.

  • Auricular acupuncture

Find relief from feelings of anxiety and depression with this acupuncture therapy. The points on the ear correlate to each organ and part of the body, therefore, stimulation of these points through acupuncture can help a variety of health conditions. The cuisine provides the body with highly nutritious, easily processed food. All ingredients are organic, sustainably grown, and locally sourced with the highest quality. The dining area features an indoor space and a seasonal outdoor patio overlooking Bailey Lake serving delicious, healthy meals aimed to improve your daily health.

Showcase kitchen

The showcase kitchen serves as an educational tool to promote positive lifestyle changes after completing a program at YO1. Cooking demonstrations will take place so that you can learn to prepare the types of meals you are eating at YO1 and integrate them into your daily life long after you leave.

Café

Situated just off the main lobby, the café provides an inviting setting for enjoying a cup of tea or light, nutritious paninis, salads, and parfaits.

Juice bar

The juice bar is located in the wellness atrium and serves freshly prepared, organic, cold-pressed juices made from fruits and vegetables.

Does YO1 provide dining services on site?

They offer a full dining menu during your stay at YO1. Guests can enjoy fresh, cold-pressed juices from the juice bar and tea/ coffee/ light snacks from the tea cafe. Lunch is provided from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. and dinner is provided from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Does YO1 serve breakfast?

The wellness guests follow juice therapy during breakfast hours. Juices have micro-nutrients such as calcium, vitamins, and minerals which detox and cleanse the body. It is especially good when taken in the morning. All other guests can enjoy the breakfast spread in the dining room from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Does YO1 only serve juice?

Juices help cleanse and nourish the body due to the vitamin and mineral content present in various fruits and vegetables. Juices play a particularly significant role in natural cleansing and therapeutic fasting. Under therapeutic fasting, a guest is typically given a maximum of 4-5 glasses of fresh fruit and/or vegetable juices per day at regular intervals of time. Guests on a normal diet are recommended to drink 4 glasses of juices, in addition to their meals, to keep hydrated.

The culinary program is based on a wholesome, balanced, and portioned diet. All of the food served at YO1 is locally sourced, organic, and sustainable. The ingredients that are used are free of harmful chemicals, alkaline, and genetic modification to create meals that promote an optimum state of health.
