Villa Averoff, is a charming 19th-century historic property located on the island of Evia, one of the most beautiful and unspoiled regions of Greece, two hours drive from Athens. Surrounded by verdant mountains and close to a beach (5 kilometers) the villa consists of two traditional mansions, each one with its own character and charm, with wonderful terraced gardens and an inviting swimming pool.

The day begins with different breathing techniques (pranayama) to establish breath awareness and to find the optimal way of breathing to support our asana (physical) practice. The morning lessons are more yang, energetic and dynamic followed by meditation and relaxation. The evening lessons are more yin, restorative and healing. During the lessons, we are going to de-stress, recharge, learn and have fun. We will focus on the alignment of different asanas depending on different body types and health conditions. Our practice will be physical but yet not about the physical. We will explore the five layers of being (koshas), the main energy channels and centers in our body (7 chakras & 3 main nadis) and the five sub-energies called prana vayus (currents of life force).

This part of Evia is green and stunningly beautiful, with so much to do. Hikers will enjoy the hiking routes that lead in the forests, gushing rivers, mountain lakes, and wondrous canyons. Just a few kilometers away, a horseback riding offers lessons to beginners or experienced horse lovers. There's also an animal farm just a few minutes away with deer, sheep, goats, pigs, horses, ducks, chickens, and turkeys, offering a very entertaining visit for children.

Needless to say, there are some great beaches around the property, some more secluded than others, depending on what you feel like. The beach of Agia Anna is beautiful and with watersports options in summer. You can visit the remains of Ancient Kirinthos, the birthplace of Canthus the Argonaut, a settlement at the beach of Kria Vrisi, just four kilometers from the villa. Built between 1600 to 1000 BC, it was once one of Evia's biggest seven cities and participated in the Trojan Wars.

To have a glimpse at the island's more recent history and local tradition, you can visit the folklore museums of Agia Anna and of Limni as well. The latter also boasts a collection of interesting archeological finds from the region. Another fascinating attraction in this part of Evia is the Kleisoura Castle built by the Franks in 1205, lying about 15 minutes away. There's also a Venetian tower hidden in the island's vegetation.
