You are invited to this detox yoga holiday with macrobiotics diet to nourish your body, mind, and heart. Set on the outskirts of a village, facing the church and the old stables a listed building, the Villa Averoff is full of charm villa, set in wonderful gardens with a swimming pool that offers modern amenities.
The villa complex consists of two large traditional mansions and three smaller buildings, these dated from the beginning of the 19 century. The buildings are set in terraced gardens where one can sit in lovely shady corners. Also, there are the inviting crystal-clear of a swimming pool, added ten years ago.

The idea of this detox retreat is to follow the daily program and food which is enough for the whole day in order to gain the most out of the detox practice but feel free to do what your body, mind, and heart tells you.
You will start the day with 30 minutes of pranayama and breathing techniques. This session is optional but highly recommended to the participants. It can help establishing breath awareness, finding the optimal breathing for your body, as well as how and when to progressively deepen the flow of the breath supporting the asana practice.
The morning Vinyasa yoga lessons are energetic and dynamic followed by a short relaxation while the Yin evening lessons are restorative and grounding. During the lessons, you will focus on the alignment of different asanas depending on different body shapes and health conditions. The practice will be physical but yet not about the physical.
There will be one day free for a longer excursion and dinner at a tavern.
Katerina has been practicing with different teachers and styles and completed the 300-hour (Yoga Alliance registered) teacher training at NYSY studios with Vivi Letsou and a 35-hour Prenatal yoga teacher training with Sue Elkind. In addition, she is attending various trainings, seminars, workshops, and courses, with teachers from all around the world including Natasha Rizopoulos, Petros Haffenrichter, Laruga Glaser, Dylan Bernstein, Magnus Ringberg, and Alexandra Rossopoulou for further education. Katerina is currently specializing in yoga therapy at the Yoga Campus in London.
Experienced Macrobiotic chef and counselor, Kostas studied at the Kushi Institute of Europe (Art of Life, Level 3 Graduate) and spends his time cooking for yoga retreats, workshops, and events that promote a mindful way of living. He gives private and group cooking lessons and seminars on the macrobiotic diet focusing on each individual’s needs and prepares macrobiotic menu suggestions for restaurants. He is a member of the team Oneproject.gr introducing and promoting the macrobiotic nutrition and philosophy in Greece through seminars, lectures, and macrobiotic products.
Kirinthos is a living village, complete with church bells and traveling fish mongers. The village provides all basic shopping needs. There are a few tavernas, coffee houses, and bars in the village, and more variety further afield. You will find banks and a post office, as well as slightly more sophisticated shops in the larger village of Mandoudi, five minutes away by car.
The area of is of immense natural beauty with mountains and hills forested with Aleppo pine and oak, rivers bordered by plane trees, olive groves, and fertile valleys where maize and cotton are grown.
Villa Averoff is a charming 19th-century historic property located on the island of Evia, one of the most beautiful and unspoiled regions of Greece, two hours drive from Athens. Surrounded by verdant mountains and close to a beach, the villa consists of two traditional mansions, each one with its own character and charm, with wonderful terraced gardens and an inviting swimming pool.

The essence of the macrobiotic diet is balance and adaptation to the environment and to the needs of each individual. Each meal is prepared with a variety of ingredients such as grains, vegetables, beans and bean products, seaweed, fermented products, nuts, seeds, and fruits; mostly organic. All the meals are 100% vegan and sugar-free.
This part of Evia is green and stunningly beautiful, with so much to do. Hikers will enjoy the hiking routes that lead in the forests, gushing rivers, mountain lakes, and wondrous canyons. Just a few kilometers away, a horseback riding offers lessons to beginners or experienced horse lovers. There's also an animal farm just a few minutes away with deer, sheep, goats, pigs, horses, ducks, chickens, and turkeys, offering a very entertaining visit for children.
Needless to say, there are some great beaches around the property, some more secluded than others, depending on what you feel like. The beach of Agia Anna is beautiful and with watersports options in summer. You can visit the remains of Ancient Kirinthos, the birthplace of Canthus the Argonaut, a settlement at the beach of Kria Vrisi, just four kilometers from the villa. Built between 1600 to 1000 BC, it was once one of Evia's biggest seven cities and participated in the Trojan Wars.
To have a glimpse at the island's more recent history and local tradition, you can visit the folklore museums of Agia Anna and of Limni as well. The latter also boasts a collection of interesting archeological finds from the region. Another fascinating attraction in this part of Evia is the Kleisoura Castle built by the Franks in 1205, lying about 15 minutes away. There's also a Venetian tower hidden in the island's vegetation.
